The ASBCs of Government Contracting:
Before You Jump In…

Government contracting continues to be a hot spot for companies seeking greener and more stable pastures. While big dollar, multi-year contracts are alluring, a significant amount of prep work is required before submitting to the Central Contractor Registration database and making contact with prospective customers and/or partners. Before You Jump In… will substantively cover key activities every prospective government contractor should complete before hanging an "open for business" shingle. Alleviate frustration, missed opportunities and burned up time/money resources by following session advice on how to:

  • Build your functional profile to ensure both Government & Industry know what you offer
  • Research how agencies currently utilize what you plan to offer them (what they buy and how much they spend)
  • Identify key customer and partner prospects
  • Use this information to plot your initial course of action (direct contracting, subcontracting, micro-purchases, simplified acquisitions, traditional procurements, GSA schedules, etc.)
  • You are encouraged to bring your laptop computer
